Romania and Bulgaria, first place in the EU regarding the poverty and social exclusion risk

Romania and Bulgaria share the first place in the EU regarding the poverty and social exclusion risk, with a percent of 40% of the population in this situation, in 2014, according to Eurostat data, reports AGERPRES.


’24.1% of the total EU population was under the risk of poverty and social exclusion in 2014. In Romania and Bulgaria, around 40% of the population was in this situation in 2014. In the Czech Republic (14.8%), in Holland (16.5%) and Sweden (16.9%), the percentage is lower than half compared to the two countries’, shows the document.
