real,- Hypermarket Romania is Member of METRO GROUP, a company that operates in 33 countries with more than 2,120 stores, and over 290,000 employees. Within the METRO GROUP real,- represents the concept of the large selling space self-service hypermarket in retailing being present in countries like Germany, Poland, Russia, Romania , Turkey and Ukraine. real,- Hypermarket entered the Romanian retail market in 2006 when its first store was opened in Timisoara. At present the chain counts 25 stores all over the country in which the customers can chose from over 60000 food and non food products in a diversified assortment. At the same time real,- offers a large range of own brands on 3 tiers: Tip, real,- QUALITY , real BIO and real,- SELECTION. Last year, despite the difficulties generated to the entire economy by the downturn, the sales of real,- Hypermarket Romania stepped up by 5.2%. For the coming years the company mid term strategy is to continue investing in new stores and to create working places, to further develop the own brands portfolio, to increase the local and national producers and, to offer better prices to its customers.
