Facebook shares up 2.56 percent at their first trade in Romania

The shares of Facebook company trade in the domestic currency starting on Friday on Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) and their quotation went up at the first trade by 2.56 percent from 93 RON to 95.35 RON per share.

Facebook shares trade on the alternative trading system, and the brokerage house Tradeville permanently provides quotations in the domestic currency so as anyone who wants to buy or sell these shares should find a counterpart.


The 26th international company Tradeville brings on BVB, Facebook, represents the largest social network in the world and exceeded a billion users.


In the third quarter, Facebook reported revenues 30 percent higher on a year-on-year basis, a first encouraging step in the direction of turning popularity into revenues, a popularity it enjoys throughout the world, said chairman of Tradeville brokerage house Mihaela Biciu on Friday at the opening of trading Facebook shares on BVB.


She said that after the Facebook shares were launched, the estimated traded volume of international shares on BVB will reach 100,000 euros in the following months.


The average trade with international shares currently is about 40,000 euros, and Thursday it reported 65,000 euros.
